I Think I Have Writer's Block

Yeah, what the title says... LOL I couldn't think of one decent title for this post. SIGH... I think it's because I have so many things going on right now and so many emotions inside of me. Let me update you all and you'll see what I mean. ;)

The Hubby called and accepted the Georgia job yesterday. I have very mixed emotions about this and if you've been reading along you'll know why. I don't mind moving. I have moved SOOOO many times in my life that I always look at it as a new adventure. BUT and this is a BIG BUT, this time I will be leaving a wonderful church family AND my oldest son behind. I have already made him promise to take a train down for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I also made him promise to call me AT LEAST once a week. I told him if he doesn't I will start calling all of his friends and asking them questions about how he's doing. Hee hee hee. A little blackmail never hurt anyone... ;)

I have been trying very hard to put all that behind me (actually, it's more like denial) and get excited about what the future holds. One good thing, the warmer winters should be good for fibro, at least that's what I have heard! I love new places and new faces, new experiences. And one of the best things, a bigger pay check! LOL

We are planning on moving the first weekend in November. That way the kids will get to trick or treat here but we should be settled in there before Thanksgiving.

There are many pluses to the move and only 2 drawbacks, even thought those drawbacks are big ones. We will be closer to a lot of my family. I have many aunts, uncles and cousins in South Carolina and one aunt, uncle and cousin in Georgia. I will be close enough to visit them!! YAY!!!!!  AND many friends have said that they will be able to visit there in Georgia! AWESOME! It will also be a shorter drive for us to visit family in Tennessee.

BUT I will be farther away from friends and family in West Virginia, although I haven't actually been able to visit in the 6 yrs we have lived here.

So, umm, yeah... very conflicted emotions!

The homeschooling laws in Georgia are a lot more lenient than the ones here in Virginia, that's a big plus. Also, there will be new areas to explore for field trips! We should actually have the money to do more things! ;) We are already planning a trip to the Okefenokee Swap after Thanksgiving!

The house we want is still available. As long as we can get the deposit together soon, we should be able to get it. Pray that we find a way!

I have been working on Colin's dinosaur costume. I still have the head, feet and hands to do.

After this I will be working on the Snoopy costume! YAY!!! Then Cailey's Tinkerbell! I will probably do a tutorial for that one.

I have sooooo much to do!! I need to go through toys, books and clothes to see what goes and what gets donated! I need to find someone to take over Bags of Hope and Love at church. I will be standing up to make that announcement at church tomorrow. Pray that I find someone willing to continue it here! I know I will be starting it up in Georgia as soon as we are settled! This is a ministry that I feel very strongly about and I plan to continue it no matter where I am. Unfortunately there will always be kids that are hurting and in need, until the good Lord calls us home.

So tired, I just want to curl up and nap even though it's a beautiful day!

I'm trying to decide if I should pull out all of our Halloween decorations or leave them packed.... Maybe we will just get a few pumpkins to carve and decorate and leave everything else packed up. Less hassle for right now! LOL

And now I am just rambling. Actually, I think that is all I have been doing with this post! LOL  SORRY!!!

Here are a few pictures to make up for the BLAH post! ;)

Seriously? Ur wearing that?!

  6. Oh, DARN!!! You can still homeschool them. I took mine out in the middle of the school year. LOL The laws here are easy to follow but can be a pain in the butt. We are sort of in the middle as far as the laws go. Some states are much easier and some stated are much harder.

  8. Stacy - I have been wondering where you have been. Now I know.....and completely understand. But I liked your post. Not a fail insight. My heart goes out to you. I really do understand your angst about the move and your son. My prayers are with you and the family to make a semi-smooth (cause, is there really a smooth transition in a move) transition to Georgia.
