Today’s post is a writing challenge. This is how it works: participating bloggers picked 4 – 6 words or short phrases for someone else to craft into a post. All words must be used at least once and all the posts will be unique as each writer has received their own set of words. That’s the challenge, here’s a fun twist; no one who’s participating knows who got their words and in what direction the writer will take them. Until now.
At the end of this post you’ll find links to the other blogs featuring this challenge. Check them all out, see what words they got and how they used them.

Searching for Sanity
She had a large, robust family and she took great pride in it. Her children were her everything. Her reason to keep going in a difficult life. Being a mother was the most important thing in the world to her, her reason for being. Her reason for breathing.
But things happen, like they always do.
Her family was torn apart by a monster.
She had to go. She took most of the children with her but one chose to remain behind.
The pain in her heart from the one child deciding not to go with her nearly tore her heart in two. Her blue eyes were constantly swimming in tears.
But she had to find the strength in her core to rise like a phoenix from the ashes of heartbreak, violence and betrayal.
She had to keep going on the hope that one day all of her children would one day be under her roof, safe, sound and happy as they had never before been.
Great story! I hope that one day the two are reunited! Maybe next month's words will help.

DeleteI feel these words were meant for you, so, so, so glad you got them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a brave, smart soul heading towards a better life. ❤❤❤
my mom went through this with my dad... he was abusive to her and to us, but my brother and I both went to live with him for a little while. I think leaving our childhood home and the fact that she moved on and in with another man really quickly was all too much for us to handle and I just wanted my own room back and my own space. Anyway, I know it cut her deeply that we did it, but I think we both had to and maybe get it out of our system. Both of us moved back to her after about a year to a year and a half and never even entertained the thought of moving in with him again. What you've done is tremendously brave, and I cant even imagine how much it hurts not to have one of your children with you, but if its anything like my situation, with a little time, that separation will be a distant memory. stay strong <3
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing this with me.

I see people like this every day at work, and it always breaks my heart. No parent ever wants to leave a child behind, even if it's what the child wants. Hugs to you.
ReplyDeleteThank you!!!
DeleteOMG Stacy, this is your story?

DeleteShe is very brave! And she is doing the best she can with what she's been given. And all those kids will appreciate it someday. I hope that day comes sooner, rather than later!
