Use Your Words - March 2015 - SPRING!

Today’s post is a writing challenge. This is how it works: participating bloggers picked 4 – 6 words or short phrases for someone else to craft into a post. All words must be used at least once and all the posts will be unique as each writer has received their own set of words. That’s the challenge, here’s a fun twist; no one who’s participating knows who got their words and in what direction the writer will take them. Until now.

Your words are:

Mud ~ Spring ~ Dirt ~ Flowers ~ Snow

They were submitted by: Southern Belle Charm

As I write this there is still a little snow on the ground. I love it. Snow is one of my favorite things.
But it's melting, turning all the dirt into mud. That means one thing, spring is on its way! With spring comes another one of my favorite things, flowers!

Ok, that was a little toooooo easy. ;) Let's take this in another direction.

Here are my words again and what they mean to me.

MUD - I am not one of those moms that freaks out when their kids get dirty. I actually encourage my kids to get out in the mud and roll around! LOL Play in it!! Make mud pies!! Have mud fights!!!
I think we should let the kids BE kids. Let them play! They are only children for such a short time. We make playing a priority. ;)

Check out that Splish Splash Rain Cape! ;)

SPRING - My 2nd favorite season, after autumn and before winter. I love how green everything gets, how new it all is. I love all the flowers. I love how all the animals respond to the warmer weather.
What I DON'T like is the pollen!!!!

DIRT - See mud. Although, I don't like dirt getting tracked into the house. Drives me CRAZY!!!!!

FLOWERS - I love flowers!! I buy fresh cut flowers all the time. Why buy fresh cut when you can grow them?? Well, I CAN'T grow them. I am death to flowers. DEATH!!! I can't grow ANYTHING!!! It's so disappointing.

SNOW - One of my FAVORITE things!! It's just so beautiful!! The only really beautiful thing about winter, really... I figure, if it's going to be cold, it might as well snow and be pretty! ;) Plus the kids love to play in it!!

I hope you like how I used my words!! ;)

Your “Secret Subject” is

There are three doors. Which door do you go through?

It was submitted by: The Momisodes

This prompt reminds me of that personality test where you have to choose one door from 10. My problem is that I can't choose just one! I always end up wanting to choose three!!!!

The Yellow Door - You are a quirky person—unusual in attractive way. You get much interest from people in your life. You are an artistic person; you can express yourself in many ways. You are good at many things. You are kind, and you may be one of the costumers to your local thrift shop. You are more likely to join with the society rather than get stuck inside your home.

The Turquoise Door - You are an artistic person who loves you express yourself through music, writing, art and so on. You are open and friendly. Yet, you are deeply private. You are not about to share your stories with others; no one may ever understand you well. Such a deep-down person like you, you sometimes feel the need to come across.

The Red Door - Your eyes light up with confidence. You too much care about what others see you, yet the inside is just a mess. You are somehow a self-destructive person when everything is going tough as you turn against yourself. Remember…you are not living to please others. Be who you are and who you want to be. The world doesn’t always keep watching you!

Maybe this just means I have multiple personalities....

Here's another thing that popped into my head:
What if THESE were the 3 doors -

Blue Tardis Door
Round Hobbit Door
Hogwart's Castle Door

Which one of those would I pick???

Well, I think I would have to stick with my main fandom and go with the Hogwart's Castle Door.

Did you know that the 3 Doors question was a thing?? I had no idea!!
Check THIS out! I had no idea!!!

We have gone through about 5 electric can openers in the past couple of years. Instead of buying yet another one I got a manual can opener instead. I left it out and asked Deanna to open some cans for me. Hee hee hee hee!! It took her FOREVER to figure out how it works!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Deanna and I were watching TV.
Me - That was D-U-M-B.
Deanna - What? I don't get it.
Me - You know... Dumb, D-U-M-B.
Deanna - Oh! I thought it was a new acronym and I just didn't know it yet!
When they finished making their chrysalides , their butts were hanging out. Completely freaked Colin out.
Colin - EWWW!! They lost their butts!! Their BUTTS!!!!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I over hear a conversation between Joshua and Deanna. I think I should be worried.

Deanna - Who would you put in a well?

Joshua - What????

Deanna - Y'know, like on "Silence of the Lambs"??  'It puts the lotion on its skin or it gets the hose again.'

Joshua - Uh, no one!!!

Deanna - There has to be SOMEONE!!

Joshua - Well, who would YOU put in a well??

Deanna - For like Niall from One Direction. For dislike, that annoying guy that says YEP on "Storage Wars". (insert evil laugh here)

Joshua - Oh, well....... Maybe Will Smith.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Colin - Are Q and O brothers?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We are doing our normal, weekly shopping at Kroger. We have the normal, usual 2 buggies full.

I am trying to make the bagger understand that he doesn't have to try to fit everything into one buggy because it's just not going to work.

The cashier pipes up and gets him to listen. He then turns to me and says, "What is this, like a month's worth?"

Me - Umm... No, it's like a week's worth.....

The look on his face was PRICELESS. It never gets old... LOL

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We did a bunch of crafts on Monday for St. Patrick's Day.
3D Shamrocks Collage
3 D Shamrocks - tutorial HERE
Leprechaun Houses Collage
We made leprechaun houses out of the boxes I won from Pick Your Plum.
I had to make finger paint... All of our paint brushes are missing!!!
I used 1 cup of flour and added water until I liked the consistency. Then I added a few drops of green food coloring.
Shamrock Collage
Tissue paper shamrocks.
Merrows by Cailey Pooka by Colin
We read Magic Tree House : Leprechauns and Irish Folklore : Research Guide
Then I asked Cailey and Colin to pick their favorite fairy and draw it.
St. Patrick's Day Breakfast
And that is what we had for breakfast! Green orange juice and green pancakes! The kids LOVED them!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My prompt :

10 years after your death, a person finds a collection of your writing in a thrift store. For some reason, a friend of yours or perhaps a stalker compiled blog posts, facebook updates, short stories, poems....anything you write...into a book, and that book ended up, mistakenly or otherwise, in a donation box. What would you hope this friend of yours included in this compilation? What would you hope the person who buys and reads it would gather about you, about the world, and about himself or herself?

It was submitted by: http://climaxedtheblog.blogspot.com

I think that video really sums up the way I want people to think of me when I'm gone.

Remember the good things and leave out all the rest.

I would hope that the book included any time that I made someone happy. Anytime that I made them smile or feel good about themselves. Anytime that I was helpful.

I hope that it would leave out the times I was short tempered or selfish. Anytime that I snapped at someone or was rude.

None of those terrible poems I wrote in high school!!! YEESH!!! What was I thinking??

None of the letters I wrote to my cousin! LOL There's no telling the crazy things I wrote. Although Amy could probably still tell you all about them! ;)

None of those silly notes I wrote in school and folded into a thousand different shapes.  (Can you say EMBARRASSING???)

I would want people to feel good reading it. Good about themselves. See that the world is still a good place, filled with good people.
