A Day at the Beach

Beach 095

As most of you know, Jacob (our oldest son) is visiting from Virginia for a few days and brought his best friend, Charles, with him. We decided to take the morning and head to the beach! Our older 3 kids hadn't been to the beach since they were VERY little and our youngest 2 had never been at all!! I LOVE the beach but, unfortunately, The Hubby does NOT, so while he was at work we took off and went! We are much closer to the beach here than when we lived in Virginia so now I can take the kids any time! YAY!!!!

Beach 115

It was in the 60's yesterday, so while not exactly ideal beach weather it was still warm enough to dip our toes. ;)

Shhh!! I actually got a picture of Deanna!!!

Beach 118

We saw A LOT of sand dollars!! SOOOOOO COOL!!!!

Beach 122

We also saw a jelly fish that had washed up on shore.

Beach 154

Jacob found a dead horseshoe crab. He thought it was pretty awesome. LOL

We had a FANTASTIC day at the beach and the kids can't wait to go back! YAY!!!

On a sad note, Jacob and Charles leave this evening to head back to Virginia. I hate to see them go but at least they are heading back with new experiences. I hope the train ride back is more comfortable for them!

  3. So good to see all the pictures. Very happy that you got to see Jacob and he is looking well. I think Cailey has a future in architecture. Love the castles. I would visit the beach every chance I got, if I lived near one.

  4. Wow! What a fun day! And we even got to see Deanna! I wish we lived near a beach, but it's at the very least a full days drive just to get to an ocean from here!

  7. Thanks for sharing your photos. It looks like you had a wonderful day. I know how excited you were to have your son back(even if it was for just a short time). Enjoy that beach! I hope the time passes quickly til your next visit. Nothing like having your kids together :)

  8. Wow, all we see here are lots of seashells! I don't think I've ever seen a sand dollar on the shores of NC.

  9. Love the beach, always a fun place to play. How close do you live? I'm two hours from the coast, but being in Southern Oregon the water is always too cold to go swimming. Last week the temp here was up in the 60s and today we have large white fluffy snowflakes, snowman time.

Love the pictures, when I use to swim in the Southern California oceans, where I grew up, I got stung by a jelly fish once or twice, och!

  10. Thanks, Michele!!!
It's going to be hard seeing him off this evening. SIGH... Hopefully it will only be for a few months and he will be back here again.

Oh, yeah, I have been stung by jellyfish, too. AWFUL!! They were all over the place at Buckroe Beach in VA when I was a kid. No fun!!!

  14. Looks like an absolutely gorgeous day at the beach. I grew up on the Oregon coast and have a great fondness for coastal landscapes.
Stacy, I can't get your "like" button to work... I'm not sure what's going on, but I seem to be having this on lots of other people's sites, too.
