15 Day Blogging Challenge - Getting to Know the Blogger - Days 6 & 7

Today's questions are -

6. Where have you worked?

7. Has your life gone the way you expected it?

I have mostly worked as a stay at home mom but I have had a few outside of the home jobs.

My very first job, other than babysitting, was at Subway. I hated it. I came home smelling of food everyday. The dogs in the neighborhood would follow me up the driveway! LOL

I also worked at a place that made cassette tapes and CDs. CDs were still fairly new so I mostly worked on the cassette tape assembly line.

I worked at Dollar General for a whole day. LOL The Hubby didn't like the hours they had given me so I quit. When I went in to interview they said I would only have to work one day on the weekends and every other holiday. Well, they had me working both Saturday AND Sunday AND the 4th of July all in the same week.

My last outside the home job was at a place that made metal fans and metal racks for stoves and refrigerators. I learned how to use a spot welder. It was an OK job and paid fairly well, but I missed my kids soooo much.

After that I stuck to in-home child care until we moved to VA. After I started homeschooling I didn't really have the time to babysit anymore. Although, people always asked.... Oh, you stay at home all day, you must have plenty of time to watch my kids, too!

The next question is a little harder to answer.... I got married at 18 and had my first child by 19. Then by 21 and 22 I had had 2 more children. LOL I certainly didn't plan to have 3 so quickly but I wouldn't change it for the world. We never planned on having 5 kids but again, I wouldn't change it ever!!!!! If money wasn't an issue we probably would have had at least one more child. LOL So I guess you could say that even though we didn't plan our lives, God did and I am perfectly content to be where we are. God knows best and we follow where He leads. Even through trials and tribulations, He is there for us, guiding us and comforting us. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Did I do things in my past that I am not proud of? Sure, hasn't everyone? But I have a great, big God and His forgiveness covers all. The blood of my savior washed me cleaned!

Kind of a short one today. :/

But I have to add that I am feeling better so I have a long day of further unpacking to do. Yippee.... I am so excited... LOL I swear, the kids' books are going to be the death of me! LOL

  2. Stacy ,
How wonderful that we have a loving and forgiving Father. He loves us all, and He leads our pathway.. And children are so special.. a gift from God. I know my daughter had first daughter and she was thrilled because she had been married 5 yrs and thought she couldn't have kids..Well in 22 months after Emily came Miss Callie. Yep...she was pretty devastated at the time, because she some major troubles in her life.. Well, Miss Callie was so God sent.
She brought the smile to all our faces in such a trying time.[Now tell me God doesn't have perfect timing?] And Emily had a playmate, It was and is "just perfect"/ [not saying they don't fight like cats and dogs at times.lol]
I so admire ladies who stay home and take care of their kids. And I know, if you take care of your kids, your home, and home school.....you are VERY busy. I worked as a Respiratory Therepist at a hospital . Started when I was 22 [ had 2 kids by then]. I worked for 25 yrs before having to retire.. I have severe asthma, and just couldn't do it anymore., Retirement at that early age, was not in my plans. I was pretty devastated. But again, we have to remember God is in control and He knows best.
Sending prayers that you get the books put away and they stay there...no more falling on your head!!!!!!!!!!! Proud your feeling better. Have a great day.

  4. Stacy thank you for sharing your testimony. All of us have daily challenges but your absolutely correct, we are never alone. God has cleansed me and forgiven me of all of my sins. He is always present, always with me ... I will never be abandoned or be left lonely. I have been richly blessed with my son and my daughter. Thank you for sharing with me today and reinforcing to me that everything is okay because He is in control, He is my shield and protector and is always providing for our every need. 5. Hi Stacy...I'm not a blogger. Have never blogged. I am a Stampin'up! demonstrator. I signed up with Stampin'Up! 5 years ago to enjoy always receiving a 20% discount on all purchases, savings on new products before being available to customers, free catalogs, unlimited techniques and training and inspiration. Offers best quality in all products, 100% warranty, gorgeous colors, and all colors and materials coordinate so every project is just stunning. I am addicted to creating cards, git tags, gift boxes and packages and wrappings, die cutting and embossing, refurbishing or changing the appearance or use of existing belongings, home decor items, scrapbooks, notebooks, decorated pens, decorated candles, Christmas ornaments, table settings...unlimited. I bought remnants of aluminum roof flashing at a garage sale. I die cut a design, assembled together, and made gorgeous table top holders for candles or anything you want to display (figurines, flowers, etc). The remaining pieces I used to make custom design light switch plates for in my rooms. Unscrewed the original light switch plate cover, applied the correct openings for screws and switch on my new design, attached it to the original cover, and screwed it back onto the wall. Gorgeous and I had alot of fun doing it. Plus it was very cheap to do :)) Our daughter was always very healthy as a child. Celebrating her 20th birthday, she was diagnosed with multiple scelrosis and is on disability until God calls her home. We provide for her the best we can and always hold her very close in our love. Julie lives with us at home and we recently adopted a chow chow puppy who needed a home. Charlie is such a joy and gives all of us lots of laughter each day. We are so grateful and thank God every day for our children and know God's love for them is even deeper than ours could ever be. God is in control always blessing us, forgiving us, and loving us. I am thankful and grateful for the blessing God gave to me to be a demonstrator with Stampin'Up!...I have experienced and learned alot, it truly has been a tremendous blessing enabling me to be a creative homemaker, and I too am very grateful for my life that God has blessed me with. Forgive me for gabbing for so long. Thank you Stacy and I always look forward to your emails :) Your friend, Lola :)) Date: Sat, 17 Nov 2012 14:03:13 +0000 To: davinci29@hotmail.com
